This time, the word of the week of our translation agency from Nuremberg comes from the legal field: “Ehegatteninnengesellschaft” (to be read like this: Ehegatten-Innengesellschaft). Like our favourite word of last week, which came from the field of pharmacy, most people probably misread this German word, when they see it for the first time. When it comes to specialist translations in the area of law, such as agreements, powers of attorney, court decisions, GTC, privacy policies and notarial contracts, small and sneaky obstacles appear regularly and require the translator to pay particular attention to the text.
